Manchester City Plot January Swoop for West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus

Manchester City is reportedly eyeing a sensational January move for West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus, as Pep Guardiola seeks to strengthen his squad for the future. The Ghanaian midfielder has quickly established himself as one of the Premier League’s rising stars, catching Guardiola’s attention with his versatility and dynamic style of play.

Kudus, who joined West Ham in 2023 for £38 million, has contributed 17 goals and 8 assists in 59 appearances, thriving in both attacking midfield and wide roles. His skillset fits perfectly into Guardiola’s fluid tactical system, particularly with City looking for long-term successors to Kevin De Bruyne and potentially replacing Jack Grealish, who has struggled for form this season.

However, signing Kudus won’t come easy. West Ham is determined to retain the 23-year-old, especially mid-season, with a firm valuation of £100 million. City reportedly values him at £66.3 million, and while his £85 million release clause activates next summer, a January deal could prove complicated.

Manchester City’s immediate priority lies elsewhere, as Guardiola focuses on reinforcing his defensive midfield options, with links to Joshua Kimmich and rising star Adam Wharton. Despite this, City’s financial strength keeps them in contention for Kudus, even if the move is delayed until the summer window.

With Kudus’ stock rising and City’s interest firmly established, the saga could become one of the most intriguing transfer stories in the months ahead.
