With just days to go until the highly anticipated 2024 CHAN playoff against Nigeria, Black Galaxies head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has shed light on the hurdles his team has faced during preparations.
The locally-based squad has been training at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence as they gear up for the first leg of the playoff, scheduled for Sunday, December 22, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Speaking to CAFOnline, the experienced coach, who previously served as the Black Stars assistant coach, highlighted logistical difficulties and time constraints as key challenges in their build-up.
“Logistics and time constraints were challenges, but strategic planning and a phased approach helped mitigate them,” Dramani explained. “Regular communication with players and staff ensured everyone was on the same page.”
Despite these obstacles, the team remains focused on the task ahead as they aim to secure an advantage in the home fixture before the return leg in Nigeria. The decisive second leg is set for Saturday, December 28, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
This edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, adding a unique dimension to the competition. For Dramani and his team, overcoming Nigeria will not only ensure qualification but also serve as a statement of their resilience and determination.
