Mathew Cudjoe Shines as 10-Man Bnei Sakhnin Earn a Hard-Fought Draw in Israel

Mathew Cudjoe showcased his class with a crucial goal as 10-man Bnei Sakhnin battled to a 1-1 draw against Maccabi Petah Tikva in the Israeli Premier League on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

The 21-year-old Ghanaian midfielder opened the scoring in the 72nd minute, putting the visitors ahead with a well-taken strike. Cudjoe’s performance was pivotal, but his evening came to an end in the 84th minute when he was substituted for Ahmad Ibrahim Salman.

Just two minutes after Cudjoe’s exit, Maccabi Petah Tikva found the equalizer through Renato Gojković, capitalizing on Sakhnin’s reduced numbers. Earlier in the game, Cameroonian striker Kevin Soni had been sent off with a straight red card, leaving Bnei Sakhnin with a numerical disadvantage.

Cudjoe’s goal marked his second of the season in eight league appearances since joining Bnei Sakhnin, further cementing his growing influence on the team. Despite the draw, his standout performance continues to highlight his potential in the Israeli top flight.
