Patrick Twumasi Shines in Thrilling Jerusalem Derby with Fifth League Goal

In a pulsating Jerusalem derby on Sunday night, Ghanaian forward Patrick Twumasi continued his stellar form, netting his fifth league goal of the season as Beitar Jerusalem played out a dramatic 3-3 draw with Hapoel Jerusalem at the Teddy Stadium.

The derby kicked off with fireworks as Hapoel’s Cedric Franck Don opened the scoring just five minutes into the game. Beitar responded swiftly, with Russian defender Grigori Morozov equalizing three minutes later.

Don struck again in the 32nd minute, momentarily restoring Hapoel’s lead, but Israeli international Yarden Shua canceled it out within three minutes, keeping the score tied at halftime.

Twumasi stole the spotlight in the second half, scoring in the 72nd minute to give Beitar the lead for the first time in the match. His calm finish highlighted his lethal form this season. However, Hapoel’s Awaka Eshata denied Beitar victory with a late equalizer in the 83rd minute, assisted by Ivorian defender Eloge Yao.

Twumasi was substituted in the 85th minute, making way for Costa Rican forward Mayron George Clayton. The Ghanaian forward now boasts an impressive record of five goals and one assist in just 10 league appearances this season.

The result keeps both teams within striking distance in the fiercely competitive Israeli Premier League standings.
