PSG to Offload Asensio and Kolo Muani in Pursuit of Nico Williams

French Giants Ready to Activate Athletic Bilbao Star’s Release Clause

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly set to part ways with Marco Asensio and Randal Kolo Muani as the club ramps up efforts to secure the signing of Spanish-Ghanaian winger Nico Williams.

Williams, 22, has become one of the most sought-after talents in Europe following his stellar displays for Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish national team. His performance was particularly notable during the 2024 European Championship, where he played a key role in Spain’s triumph over England to clinch the title in Germany.

The winger was previously linked with a move to Barcelona after his dazzling displays in the Euros, but the deal fell through. PSG has now reignited their interest and is prepared to activate Williams’ €58 million release clause.

To fund the transfer, the French giants are reportedly ready to part with Asensio and Kolo Muani, both of whom have fallen out of favor under the current management. With Kylian Mbappé’s departure leaving a significant void in PSG’s attack, Williams is seen as the ideal candidate to bring dynamism and creativity to the squad.

However, PSG faces stiff competition from Bayern Munich, who are closely monitoring Williams’ situation at Bilbao. Despite managing just one goal in 17 La Liga appearances this season, the young winger’s immense potential and versatility continue to attract top suitors.

PSG remains confident in their pursuit and aims to complete the deal swiftly, solidifying their attacking options for the remainder of the season.
