Top golf professionals, including Nigeria’s number one and defending champion, Sunday Olapade, are set to compete in the fifth edition of the annual Ultimate Golf Challenge. The event will take place at the golf section of Ikoyi Club 1938 on Friday, December 20.
The 36-hole tournament will feature notable players such as former Order of Merit winner Oche Odoh, Francis Epe, Ikoyi Club-based Monday Eze, Willy Gift from Port Harcourt, Femi Olagbenro, Barry Yaw Dradey from Achimota Golf Club in Ghana, Bashiru Bakare, Kamalu Bako, Emos Korblah, and former champion Vincent Torgah. Rising America-based star Tokunbo Pedro, who has competed in China and the United States, is also among the top names expected.
Akin Semowo, chairman of the Ultimate Golf Challenge organizing committee, emphasized the tournament’s role in advancing professional golf and supporting players in Nigeria. “Our mission has always been to promote professional golf in Nigeria and uplift the players. We remain committed to this vision,” he said.
