In a major boost for Manchester United, rising star Amad Diallo has penned a contract extension that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2030. The 22-year-old Ivorian forward has been one of the shining lights in what has been a challenging season for the club.
Diallo’s flair and knack for clutch moments have captured the hearts of United fans, with highlights including a dramatic late equalizer in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool and a last-minute winner in December’s Manchester derby.
“I’ve already experienced some unforgettable moments with this club, but I know there’s much more to achieve,” Diallo shared in the club’s announcement on Thursday. “I have huge ambitions and want to make history at Manchester United.”
Since his arrival from Atalanta in 2021, Diallo has steadily risen through the ranks, sharpening his skills during loan stints at Rangers and Sunderland before establishing himself in United’s first team last season. This term, he has made 26 appearances, contributing six goals and seven assists.
Reflecting on the season, Diallo added, “It’s been a tough year for everyone, but I’m confident we’re on the right track. I’m ready to give my all to help the team and make our supporters proud again.”
Manchester United’s technical director, Jason Wilcox, hailed the young forward’s progress, emphasizing Diallo’s quality, versatility, and determination as essential elements of the club’s future plans.
The extension underscores United’s faith in Diallo as they look to build a squad capable of challenging for top honors in the years to come.
