Clash of Giants: Nigeria Drawn with Senegal in CHAN 2024 Group D

The stage is set for an electrifying 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) after the final draw was held at the iconic Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, on Wednesday, January 15.

Defending champions Senegal headline a mouthwatering Group D, where they will face Nigeria in what many are already calling a “final before the final.” The group also features Sudan and Congo, promising intense competition and high-stakes drama.

Meanwhile, Group A sees host nation Kenya bracing for battles against North African giants Morocco, alongside Zambia, DR Congo, and Angola. The co-hosts will have their work cut out as they aim to impress on home soil.

Group B is headlined by joint hosts Tanzania, who will lock horns with Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic.

In Group C, co-hosts Uganda await Niger, Guinea, and two yet-to-be-determined teams following the conclusion of the qualifiers.

Originally scheduled for February 2025, the tournament has been further postponed to August 2025 due to infrastructure delays, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). With the draw now complete, the qualified teams must step up their preparations to stake their claim as Africa’s best in this prestigious competition.
