In an exciting development, Ghanaian winger Isaac Atanga has signed a two-year deal with Swedish Superettan club Kalmar FF, departing Norwegian side Aalesunds FK. The 23-year-old, known for his speed and attacking dynamism, is eager to reignite his career in Sweden.
Atanga began his professional journey with Danish side FC Nordsjaelland, where he made a name for himself with his electric pace and creativity. However, his time at Aalesunds FK proved challenging, with limited game time resulting in just five league appearances this season.
Kalmar’s sporting director, Peter Swardh, remains confident in Atanga’s potential to thrive, emphasizing the winger’s ability to unsettle defenses. The club is counting on his skill set to strengthen their squad as they chase promotion to the Allsvenskan, Sweden’s top-tier league.
Atanga himself expressed his enthusiasm about joining Kalmar FF:
“The ambitions and goals of the club attracted me here. After discussions with the coach and the sports director, it felt like a very exciting venture. I hope to contribute positively to the team and help us achieve our goals.”
Though yet to feature for Ghana’s Black Stars, Atanga’s move to Sweden represents a fresh opportunity to showcase his talent and potentially earn a national call-up. His addition is expected to inject pace and creativity into Kalmar’s attack, making him one to watch in the 2024/25 season.
