Former Ghana international, Joseph Attamah Larweh, had a disappointing outing for Kayserispor in their Turkish Super Lig clash with Sivasspor on Saturday. The versatile 30-year-old defender, who can also operate in midfield, was shown two yellow cards within a span of just six minutes, resulting in a red card and his early departure from the match.
Attamah Larweh’s first caution came in the 79th minute, and just seven minutes later, he was sent off after picking up a second yellow in the 86th minute. His red card added to Kayserispor’s woes, with the team already down to 10 men after Stéphane Bahoken had received a red card earlier in the match.
Sivasspor, dominant throughout the game, opened the scoring early in the 5th minute through Rey Manaj. An own goal by Onurcan Piri in the 10th minute compounded Kayserispor’s struggles, and the home side went into the break 3-0 up, thanks to a third goal from Cape Verde international Emrah Bassan. Despite goals from Duckens Nazon and Aylton Boa Morte for Kayserispor in the second half, Sivasspor responded with two more strikes from Manaj and Bassan, sealing a commanding 5-2 victory.
Attamah Larweh’s red card overshadowed his 16th appearance of the season in the Turkish top-flight, and his side will need to regroup after this heavy defeat.
