Stephen Appiah to Prioritize Player Relations as Black Stars Management Committee Vice Chairman

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has unveiled Stephen Appiah’s focus on Player Relations in his new role as Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee.

The former Black Stars captain will play a pivotal role in fostering strong connections between players and management, ensuring effective communication and support for the national team. Appiah will work hand-in-hand with the committee’s Chairman, Dr. Randy Abbey, to provide the needed guidance and assistance for the Black Stars.

Dr. Randy Abbey, in addition to collaborating with Appiah, will spearhead engagements with the Ghanaian government and key stakeholders. His leadership will also extend to overseeing the administrative and logistical operations critical to the Black Stars’ success.

Joining the committee are Mr. Samuel Aboabire, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and a member of the GFA Executive Council, and Mr. Moses Armah, President of Medeama Sporting Club. Together, the team is tasked with steering the Black Stars’ management ahead of their crucial assignments in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The committee’s immediate focus will be on Ghana’s upcoming qualifiers in March. The Black Stars will first host Chad at home before traveling to face Madagascar in what promises to be two decisive matches.

With Stephen Appiah’s vast experience as a former captain and the collective expertise of the committee, the GFA is optimistic about ensuring a solid foundation for the team’s success.
