Ghanaian center-back Kingsley Gyamfi is set for a fresh chapter in his career after securing a season-long loan move to Swedish club Osters IF from Hammarby IF. The deal, which includes an option to buy, provides the 20-year-old defender with an opportunity to establish himself at the club.
Gyamfi’s journey began in Ghana before he moved to Sweden in 2022, joining Hammarby’s youth ranks. His rapid development saw him feature for Hammarby TFF in Ettan Norra before gaining valuable experience during a loan spell at Ekenas IF in Finland’s top division.
With the new season approaching, Osters IF sees Gyamfi as a crucial addition to their squad. Sporting director Jesper Jansson, who has followed Gyamfi’s progress closely, praised his qualities:
“I know Kingsley from before. He is a player with great potential who previously played in HTFF but was also loaned to Finland last year. A fast and tall center-back who will complement the squad in a very good way. The opportunity arose considering the tough competition that Hammarby has in the position, and we are very happy to be able to loan him.”
With his speed, height, and defensive abilities, Gyamfi is expected to strengthen Osters IF’s backline as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
