Ghana’s newly appointed Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has wasted no time in setting his agenda in motion. Just days after assuming office, he met with officials from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in what is seen as the first step toward revitalizing Ghanaian football.

The meeting follows a directive from President John Dramani Mahama, who urged the Minister to prioritize sports development, starting with the GFA.

“I expect that you concentrate on building up all the sporting disciplines. I know the Ghana Football Association would be a good place to start to make sure that we return the Black Stars to their glory days,” President Mahama said during Kofi Adams’ swearing-in ceremony.

With Ghana’s football landscape facing challenges, the Minister’s engagement with the GFA signals a commitment to reviving the Black Stars and strengthening football structures nationwide. Beyond football, Adams is expected to engage other sports stakeholders in a bid to ensure holistic sports development across the country.

This marks the beginning of what many hope will be a new era for Ghanaian sports under the new government.
