Black Stars Laser-Focused on Securing 2026 World Cup Spot

The Black Stars of Ghana have set their sights firmly on qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, with a clear mission to win their remaining matches and secure their place on football’s grandest stage.

Ghana’s World Cup qualifying campaign gained significant momentum after back-to-back emphatic victories over Chad and Madagascar. The Black Stars thrashed Chad 5-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium before cruising to a 3-0 win against Madagascar in the fifth and sixth rounds of the qualifiers. These commanding performances have propelled Ghana to the top of Group I, with 15 points, three ahead of second-placed Comoros, who have 12 points after six matches.

With only four games left to play, the team is leaving nothing to chance. Speaking to Sportsblog247.com, Henry Asante Twum, the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), emphasized the team’s unwavering focus on finishing the job.

“We know we have to win the rest of our games to confirm qualification to the World Cup, and we are focused on doing it. We are thinking about ourselves, we are not thinking about who is behind us or any other thing. The most significant thing is to win the remaining games,” Asante Twum asserted.

The Black Stars will regroup in September 2025 to resume their World Cup qualifying journey, with the dream of returning to the global stage driving their determination.
