The Black Stars have arrived in Morocco as they gear up for a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar.
Departing Accra on Saturday morning at 10:30 GMT, the team touched down at Acharif Al Idrissi Airport in Al Hoceima at 16:16 GMT. All 23 players made the journey in top condition, ready to face their Group I rivals on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Ghana enters the contest riding high on confidence following a commanding 5-0 victory over Chad, a result that propelled them to the top of the Group I standings. A win against Madagascar would further solidify their position and edge them closer to World Cup qualification.
Leading the delegation are Black Stars Management Committee Chairman Dr. Randy Abbey and Vice Chairman Stephen Appiah, with Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan also accompanying the squad.
The 23-man squad comprises goalkeepers Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Benjamin Asare, and Joseph Wollacott; defenders Gideon Mensah, Ebenezer Annan, Kingsley Schindler, Kamaradini Mamudu, Alexander Djiku, Mohammed Salisu, Razak Simpson, Jonas Adjetey, and Jerome Opoku; midfielders Thomas Partey, Lawrence Agyekum, Abu Francis, and Mohammed Kudus; and forwards Ernest Nuamah, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, Jerry Afriyie, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Christopher Bonsu Baah.
The Black Stars will kick off their clash against Madagascar at 19:00 GMT at the Stade Mimoun Al Arsi in Al Hoceima, Morocco, with their sights set on another victory to maintain their dominance in Group I.
