Decathlon Ghana’s Renewed Commitment to Women’s Football Earns GFA’s Praise

At the heart of Accra, within the bustling Decathlon Superstore at the Accra Mall, a renewed promise was made—a commitment to the future of Ghanaian women’s football. Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt E.S. Okraku stood before an audience of football executives and corporate leaders on March 5, 2025, to commend Decathlon Ghana for its unwavering support of the sport.

The event marked the renewal of Decathlon Ghana’s partnership with the GFA, reinforcing a bond that has played a key role in the growth of women’s football in the country. With Decathlon Ghana’s CEO Geoffrey Fadloul and board members in attendance, along with a delegation from Decathlon France led by Gonzalo Diez, the occasion underscored the global sports retailer’s dedication to Ghanaian football.

Okraku emphasized the direct impact of Decathlon’s investment, acknowledging how their contributions have strengthened women’s football at multiple levels. He assured Decathlon of the GFA’s continued commitment to a partnership built on trust, integrity, and mutual progress.

Also present at the ceremony were GFA’s Director of Marketing Jamil Maraby, Head of Public Relations and Strategy Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, and Black Stars assistant coach John Paintsil, all of whom echoed the importance of corporate support in sports development.

With this renewed partnership, Decathlon Ghana and the GFA set their sights on an even brighter future for women’s football, ensuring that young talents across the country have the resources they need to excel.
