Crystal Palace soared into the next round of the FA Cup with a thrilling 3-1 victory over Millwall at Selhurst Park, thanks to a stunning header from Eddie Nketiah.
The Eagles took control early after Millwall’s Liam Roberts received a red card in the eighth minute. Their advantage soon paid off when a Japhet Tanganga own goal put Palace ahead. Seven minutes later, Daniel Muñoz doubled the lead, giving Oliver Glasner’s men a strong foothold.
However, the visitors fought back, pulling one back through Wes Harding just before halftime, setting the stage for a tense second half.
With nine minutes remaining, Nketiah sealed the victory in style, rising high to meet a well-delivered cross with an expertly placed header. Palace boss Oliver Glasner was full of praise for the striker, hailing the goal as an incredible piece of technique.
“He can be very happy with it – it was an amazing header,” Glasner said. “He had to run backwards and head into the opposite direction, which is one of the most difficult headers to execute.”
Since joining Palace from Arsenal last summer, Nketiah has now netted three times for the club. Still eligible to represent Ghana, the forward continues to impress as he settles into life in South London.
