Ernest Nuamah made his mark once again in the French Ligue 1, delivering a stunning goal to help Olympique Lyonnais secure a crucial 2-0 victory over OGC Nice at the Allianz Riviera.
Introduced as a substitute in the 66th minute, the Ghanaian winger wasted no time in making an impact. With Lyon already gaining momentum after Rayan Cherki’s 78th-minute opener, Nuamah doubled the lead just five minutes later with a sensational strike that sealed all three points for his side.
Reflecting on his goal, Nuamah shared insights into the moment: “I got the ball back, took my time, then I saw the target, and it went in. I think we were good; we had possession but also lost it a lot. In the second half, we settled down and found the spaces.”
Beyond his personal achievement, Nuamah emphasized the team’s unity and positive energy: “We are happy. We play together, and that is reflected on the pitch. Every match, I try to score and help the team. Winning away from home is just as important as at the Groupama Stadium.”
With this goal, Nuamah has now scored three times in Ligue 1 this season, along with one assist in 20 appearances. As he continues to find his rhythm, his performances will be crucial for both Lyon and the Black Stars, with World Cup qualifiers on the horizon.
