Ghana’s quest to showcase its rising football stars continues as the second batch of U-16 players prepares to report for national team screening on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. The young talents are expected to arrive at the Glowlamp Soccer Academy at 2:00 p.m., as part of the team’s preparations for the prestigious 7th Guadeloupe U-16 Invitational Tournament.
This phase follows the initial screening held last week, with coaches keen to identify and nurture promising players who will represent Ghana on the international stage.
Leading the charge is former Ghanaian international Nii Odartey Lamptey, who serves as head coach. He will be supported by John Oppong Welbeck and Awudu Issaka, both bringing valuable experience to the technical team.
The Guadeloupe U-16 Invitational, scheduled for May 25, 2025, promises fierce competition, featuring youth teams from football powerhouses like Mexico, France, Brazil, as well as African counterparts Ivory Coast and Togo. The tournament not only provides a platform for young players to test their skills against elite opposition but also plays a crucial role in their development and future integration into Ghana’s national football system.
With excitement building, all eyes will be on these young hopefuls as they take the next step toward representing Ghana on the global stage.
