Ghana’s Abdul Mumin Ruled Out for Season After Knee Injury

Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin has been dealt a devastating blow after suffering a serious knee injury that will keep him out for the remainder of the season.

The Rayo Vallecano center-back sustained the injury during a La Liga clash against Sevilla, limping off in the 35th minute of the 1-1 draw. Spanish media reports confirm that the 26-year-old, who has been a standout performer this season with 24 appearances in 26 matches, will be sidelined for months.

Mumin’s absence is also a major setback for Ghana’s Black Stars, who are preparing for crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar on March 21 and 24. The defender is expected to miss these games but could return for later qualification rounds.

With two international caps to his name, Mumin’s injury comes as a blow to both club and country as he recovers for a hopeful return.
