As the Black Stars assembled for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, concerns arose over the late arrival of several key players. However, Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, reassured fans that such delays are normal, given the squad’s heavy reliance on overseas-based talent.

“It’s very common, especially when 90% of your players play abroad,” he stated in an interview with Sportsblog247.com.

The team’s first training session on Monday saw just nine players take to the pitch, focusing on shooting, passing, and stretching drills. But as the hours passed, reinforcements arrived at the team’s hotel, and by Tuesday evening, the full squad was in camp, ready to switch gears toward tactical preparations under head coach Otto Addo.

With all hands now on deck, the Black Stars are set to take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before heading to Morocco for their encounter with Madagascar on Monday. Fans will be hoping for a strong start in their journey to the 2026 World Cup.
