After nearly three weeks on the sidelines, Myron Boadu is edging closer to a return for VfL Bochum. The Dutch-Ghanaian forward, who suffered a torn muscle fiber in his thigh, has started running drills, signaling progress in his recovery.

Boadu’s absence has been felt, especially after his last outing on Matchday 21, where he bagged a brace in a thrilling 2-2 draw against KSV Holstein. However, Bochum head coach Dieter Hecking is taking a cautious approach, ruling out the striker for this Saturday’s clash against TSG Hoffenheim.

Even for the high-profile encounter against Bayern Munich, Boadu’s availability remains in doubt. Hecking insists on prioritizing the player’s full recovery rather than rushing him back. A more probable return date is set for March 8, when Bochum faces Bayern, or at the latest, the following week against Eintracht Frankfurt.

So far this season, Boadu has been a key figure for Bochum, netting seven goals and providing an assist in 11 Bundesliga appearances.
