Myron Boadu’s Return Sparks Hope for Bochum Ahead of Leverkusen Clash

After a frustrating period on the sidelines, Myron Boadu is back—and VfL Bochum coach Dieter Hecking couldn’t be happier.

The Dutch-Ghanaian striker made his return in a recent friendly against Prussia Münster, delivering an eye-catching performance that left a lasting impression on Hecking. “Myron had his actions and was very striking. That showed me we need him,” the coach remarked, reflecting on the former AZ Alkmaar forward’s impact.

Boadu’s return is a timely boost for Bochum, who face a tough test against league leaders Bayer Leverkusen. However, Hecking remains cautious about rushing his star striker back into full-time action. “We will see how long we need him in the game,” he said, aware of the risks of reintroducing Boadu too quickly.

Past injury setbacks weigh on the coach’s mind. “If you bring him from the start, you can be unlucky that you have to change after 35, 40 minutes,” Hecking warned, emphasizing the importance of managing Boadu’s recovery carefully.

As Bochum prepare for their crucial showdown, Boadu’s return offers a glimmer of hope—but the road to full match fitness is one the club will navigate with patience.
