As Ghana’s Black Stars gear up for a crucial World Cup qualifier against Chad, defender Mohammed Salisu has issued a rallying call to forward Antoine Semenyo, urging him to bring his Premier League form to the national team.
During a lighthearted yet determined exchange in camp, Salisu inquired about Semenyo’s goal contributions this season. “How many goals have you scored this season?” he asked.
Semenyo, brimming with confidence, responded: “Nine goals and four assists.”
Impressed by the forward’s impressive tally, Salisu wasted no time in delivering his message: “We need that on Friday.”
With Ghana currently sharing the top spot in their group with Comoros, the upcoming match against Chad is crucial in their bid for a place at the 2026 World Cup. The Black Stars, who recently endured a difficult run, including missing out on AFCON 2025, are eager to turn things around.
After facing Chad, Ghana will travel to Morocco for their matchday six encounter with Madagascar, where they hope to solidify their qualification hopes.
