Super Eagles’ Camp Comes Alive as More Players Arrive in Kigali

The Super Eagles’ camp in Kigali is buzzing with activity as more players arrive ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.

Victor Osimhen and Bruno Onyemaechi were the first to report for duty on Sunday, marking the beginning of preparations for Friday’s showdown at the Amahoro Stadium. By Monday morning, the squad had grown to six, with Amas Obasogie and Tolu Arokodare joining the group alongside home-based players Kayode Bankole and Papa Daniel Mustapha.

New head coach Eric Chelle also landed in Kigali with his full technical crew, ready to oversee his first competitive match in charge. The camp, based at the Radisson Blu hotel, was expecting further reinforcements overnight, with key players such as Moses Simon, Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika, Jordan Torunarigha, Stanley Nwabali, Samuel Chukwueze, Bright Osayi, and Igoh Ogbu scheduled to arrive.

Nigeria, currently struggling in Group C with three points from four games, are desperate for their first victory. Rwanda, the unexpected group leaders with seven points, pose a tough challenge, but the Super Eagles will be aiming to turn their fortunes around and revive their World Cup hopes.

All eyes are now on Friday’s clash, as fans eagerly anticipate whether the Super Eagles can secure a much-needed win and climb up the standings.
