“I Knew I Would Score” – Mohammed Fuseini Reflects on Dream Black Stars Debut at Unity Cup

In what can only be described as a dream start to his international career, rising star Mohammed Fuseini has opened up about his breakthrough moment with the Black Stars during the 2024 Unity Cup in London.

Fresh from lifting the Belgian Pro League title with Union Saint Gilloise, the dynamic winger was handed his first national team call-up by coach Otto Addo for the four-nation tournament in May. Fuseini made an immediate impact, netting his debut goal just two games into his international career.

Ghana wrapped up the competition in third place with a commanding victory over Trinidad and Tobago — a match that saw Fuseini’s name etched onto the scoresheet and into the hearts of Ghanaian fans.

“I was really excited and I was always ready for that moment,” he told Sportsblog247.com. “As you saw how I played, I was ready for the opportunity. Before the game, when I knew I was starting, I knew I was going to score. It was a special moment for me, and I wanted to make it even more special.”

With key players like Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Ernest Nuamah sidelined by injuries, Fuseini seized the chance to impress. His standout performance now provides Otto Addo with more attacking options heading into future international fixtures.
