The summer transfer window is heating up as Napoli and Liverpool enter into complex negotiations over star striker Victor Osimhen.
According to fresh reports, Liverpool have made their interest in the Nigerian forward official, triggering talks with Napoli over a potential high-profile move. The Reds are keen on signing Osimhen, but Napoli are standing firm on their valuation, insisting on the €75 million release clause in his contract.
In a bold counter-move, Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna reportedly made enquiries about two of Liverpool’s forwards — Darwin Núñez and Italian winger Federico Chiesa, the latter having only recently arrived at Anfield from Juventus.
Liverpool are said to have offered an equal swap deal, involving both Núñez and Chiesa in exchange for Osimhen. But Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has raised the stakes, demanding not just the two players but an additional €20 million to seal the deal.
With Liverpool hesitant and De Laurentiis holding his ground, the standoff continues — and Osimhen’s future remains up in the air.
