FC Nordsjaelland have been hit with an early-season setback as highly-rated Ghanaian teenager Araphat Mohammed has sustained a serious knee injury, ruling him out indefinitely.
The 19-year-old midfielder, a product of the renowned Right to Dream Academy, suffered the injury during a training match against AC Horsens on Saturday. A late collision resulted in a cruciate ligament tear, forcing the youngster out of action and dashing hopes of featuring in the club’s upcoming preseason tour in Austria.
Confirming the news, Nordsjaelland’s Football Director Alexander Riget shared his disappointment and support:
> “We are very sorry for Araphat. He had come back well after the summer break and was off to a good start in pre-season. It’s hard when accidents hit like that. But of course, we will do everything we can to help him come back as strongly and quickly as possible.”
Araphat had been making encouraging strides toward becoming a regular in the first team, impressing coaches and fans alike with his composure and vision in midfield. His injury comes as a major blow to both the player and the club’s plans for the new Danish Superliga season.
Despite the unfortunate setback, hopes remain high for a full recovery. The football community in Ghana and Denmark will be rallying behind Araphat as he begins his long road back to full fitness.
