Ghanaian midfield sensation Wasiima Mohammed has landed in Switzerland to begin a 10-day trial with top-tier women’s side FC Zurich, a move that could mark her first big step into European football.
Fresh off a solid showing at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Queens, the 21-year-old Tamale Northern Ladies star now finds herself in the heart of Europe, hoping to turn heads and earn a permanent deal.
The opportunity was made possible through Zakaria Safianu, CEO of Division One club Real Tamale United (RTU), whose efforts have opened a path for the former Black Princesses playmaker to showcase her talent beyond Ghana’s borders.
Wasiima, who dazzled in the Ghana Women’s Premier League with her creativity and drive, now has ten crucial days to convince FC Zurich that she’s ready for the big stage.
Her story is not just one of talent—it’s one of rising hope, northern pride, and a dream that’s becoming reality.
