Nigerian powerhouse Bayelsa Queens are bracing up for a thrilling opener against Ghana’s Police Ladies in the WAFU B Women’s Champions League. The Group B clash is scheduled to take place in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
The Prosperity Girls, who lifted the crown in 2022, will battle in a tricky group that also includes AS ASKO (Togo) and Sam Nelly (Benin Republic).
Meanwhile, hosts ASEC Mimosas of Côte d’Ivoire will kick off the tournament against AS Garde of Niger Republic in the curtain-raiser.
The highly anticipated competition will run from August 23 to December 5, 2025, with the eventual champions earning the prestigious ticket to represent the zone at the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Edo Queens, last season’s winners from Nigeria, are the defending champions of the sub-regional event.
With Bayelsa Queens seeking to reclaim glory and restore Nigerian dominance, all eyes will be on Yamoussoukro when the battle begins.
