In the wake of their impressive third-place finish at the just-ended Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, the Black Queens were given a warm and hearty reception by the Bank of Africa Ghana.
On Thursday, August 7, 2025, the bank hosted a special breakfast meeting at its headquarters to honour and celebrate the team’s achievement. Representing the Queens at the event were Vice Captain Jennifer Cudjoe, Jacqueline Owusu, Nina Norhsie, and central defender Susan Ama Duah.
The gathering was more than a simple congratulatory gesture — it marked the beginning of what the bank described as a long-term relationship with the team.
“We are very proud of you. You played a great tournament and finished in third place, and I wish you all the best for your future, which I am sure you will do even better,” said Abderrahmane Belbachir, Managing Director of Bank of Africa Ghana. “Bank of Africa will support you all the time. We are here to support you, and we are now your partners.”
With the backing of a committed corporate partner, the Queens’ WAFCON success may just be the start of a new era of recognition, support, and greater triumphs for Ghana’s women’s football.
