⚽ Wahab Ackwei Reaches 100 USL Appearances Milestone

Ghanaian defender Wahab Ackwei has achieved a significant career milestone in the United States, marking his 100th USL Championship appearance over the weekend.

The former Inter Allies defender hit the landmark while featuring for El Paso Locomotive in their thrilling 2-2 draw with Monterrey Bay FC. In his USL journey so far, Ackwei has registered seven goals and five assists, showcasing his contributions beyond just defensive duties.

Ackwei first moved to the United States in 2018 to join New York Red Bulls II before going on to represent Richmond Kickers, Loudoun United, Rio Grande Valley FC Toros, Colorado Springs Switchbacks, and now El Paso Locomotive.

His latest appearance marked his 15th game of the 2025 regular season, with his current club celebrating the achievement:
“Congratulations to Wahab Ackwei on making his 100th USL regular season appearance Saturday night!” El Paso Locomotive wrote in tribute.

At 28, Ackwei already boasts an impressive CV, including winning the 2024 USL Cup with Colorado Springs Switchbacks. Across all U.S. competitions and divisions, he has now accumulated 147 appearances since his arrival.
