The next chapter of Ghana’s U-17 football journey is about to begin. On a humid Sunday evening at the University of Ghana Stadium Annex, the Black Starlets completed their last rigorous training session, drawing the curtain on four demanding weeks of preparation for the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship.
Head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has carefully sculpted a squad that blends raw talent with tactical discipline, knowing that this regional showdown is more than just a tournament—it is the gateway to the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Today, September 15, the team departs Accra bound for Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, where final touches will be applied before the championship kicks off on September 20. For the young Ghanaians, the stakes are high but so is the pedigree: Ghana’s youth sides boast a proud history as two-time U-17 World Cup winners.
With the nation’s expectations riding on their shoulders, the Black Starlets are determined to revive that golden legacy and prove once more that Ghanaian football talent shines brightest on the continental stage.
