Ghana’s Women’s Table Tennis Team Seal Historic Spot at 2025 ITTF African Championships

Ghana’s women’s table tennis team has taken a giant leap forward, earning qualification for the 2025 ITTF African Championships in Tunis, Tunisia, scheduled for October 12–19.

Their ticket to the continental stage came after a brilliant run at the 2025 West African Regional Championships in Nigeria, where the team fought their way to a bronze medal finish. That podium spot secured Ghana one of just three women’s qualification slots, joining regional powerhouses Nigeria and Benin.

The African Championships will not only gather the continent’s top talents but also serve as the gateway to the 2026 World Table Tennis Championships in London — making Ghana’s breakthrough even more significant.

For Ghana, this moment represents more than just qualification. It is proof of the rising strength and resilience of its women’s side, who are now set to carry the nation’s hopes onto one of Africa’s biggest sporting stages.

With weeks to go, anticipation is building as the Ghanaian ladies prepare to test themselves against the continent’s elite — with the dream of London 2026 pushing them every step of the way.
