Super Falcons star Esther Okoronkwo delivered a masterclass on Saturday, netting twice and adding an assist as AFC Toronto stormed into the Northern Super League (NSL) playoffs with a commanding 7–0 victory over Vancouver Rise FC.
The Nigerian forward opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a superbly curled free kick, setting the tone for Toronto’s dominant display. She later doubled her tally in the 66th minute, underlining the blistering form that has made her one of the league’s most dangerous attackers.
Kaylee Hunter also grabbed a brace to lift her season total to 12 goals, while Kaela Hansen, Sarah Stratigakis, and Jade Kovacevic—who netted her first of the campaign—completed the rout.
The emphatic win not only ended Vancouver’s impressive eight-match unbeaten streak but also secured Toronto’s playoff berth with four games to spare, their biggest victory of the season so far.
Okoronkwo’s remarkable run continues, with the 2024 WAFCON standout now boasting seven goals and seven assists this term, keeping Toronto firmly atop the standings as they chase the league title.
