Charlotte FC Promote Ghanaian Defender Morrison Agyemang to First Team on Long-Term Deal

Morrison Agyemang has earned a major career boost after signing a long-term contract with Charlotte FC and securing promotion to the club’s first team.

The 21-year-old defender joins the senior squad from Crown Legacy FC, Charlotte’s second team, on a deal that runs until June 2029, with an option for an additional year. He will occupy an international roster slot for the 2026 season.

Charlotte FC General Manager Zoran Krneta praised the young Ghanaian’s progress, describing him as a talented, athletic, and hardworking defender who stood out during preseason preparations.

According to Krneta, Agyemang’s performances last season with Crown Legacy, combined with his impressive preseason displays, earned him the promotion.

The club believes he will strengthen an already solid backline while benefiting from the guidance of more experienced teammates as part of their Pro Player Pathway development model.

Agyemang moved to the United States in July 2025 from Croatian side HNK Šibenik and quickly established himself as a key figure at Crown Legacy. Prior to his move to Europe, he featured for Cheetah FC.

With his elevation to the MLS stage, Agyemang now faces the challenge of competing for minutes at the highest level, as he looks to continue his steady rise in American soccer.
