Nigeria U-20 Women’s team, the Falconets, head into the second leg of their 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup final qualifying tie against Senegal with optimism, holding a narrow 1-0 lead from the first leg.
Head coach Moses Aduku expressed confidence that his team will secure a positive result in Dakar.
“We will overcome because we have reviewed the match and learned a lot. I commend the girls for regrouping after a challenging first half, adjusting tactics, and showing character in the second half. We could have won by more goals, given the opportunities we created,” Aduku told thenff.com.
He added, “In Senegal, we must defend resolutely and attack with purpose. We will play with focus and determination.”
CAF has appointed officials from Morocco for the game. Zakia El Grini will serve as referee, assisted by Karima Khadiri (AR1) and Ihsane Ennouajeli Nouajli (AR2), with Zoulaikha Harmasse as fourth official.
Oumou Souleymane Kane of Mauritania will act as commissioner, while Alice Kimani of Kenya will assess the refereeing.
The match is set for Stade Lat Dior in Thies, located 70 kilometres from Dakar, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 pm Senegal time (6:00 pm Nigeria time).
