Ghanaian singer Kelvyn Boy has praised the growing trend of Ghanaians proudly wearing the national team jersey during the celebrations of Ghana Month, while also expressing concern about the high prices being charged for the shirts.
In recent weeks, many citizens across the country—both young and old—have been spotted wearing the jersey of the Ghana national football team as a symbol of patriotism and national pride throughout the month-long festivities.
Kelvyn Boy described the movement as a positive reflection of the renewed love and unity among Ghanaians.
“A lot of people are wearing the Ghana jersey with pride, and that’s the way to go. The Ghana jersey trend, I’m really excited about it,” he said.
Despite his excitement about the growing show of patriotism, the singer raised concerns about the rising prices of the jerseys in the market. According to him, some vendors may be taking advantage of the popularity of the trend to increase prices beyond what many people can afford.
“I hear people are selling the Ghana jersey for about GH¢1,500 and things,” he added.
While applauding the patriotic spirit driving the trend, the Down Flat hitmaker urged sellers to keep prices reasonable so that more Ghanaians can take part in the celebration and proudly represent their country.
