🇲🇺 Mauritius Set for Coaching Change as Moullec Era Ends

The Mauritius Football Association has confirmed that head coach Guillaume Moullec will step down at the end of April 2026, bringing his two-year tenure with the national team to a close.

The decision follows Mauritius’ failure to qualify for the group stages of the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers—a major objective set when Moullec was appointed in 2024.

Tasked with rebuilding the team and improving its competitiveness on the continental stage, Moullec oversaw a period that showed glimpses of progress. However, the inability to meet key qualification targets ultimately led to the federation’s decision not to renew his contract.

In a brief statement, the association indicated that this move marks the beginning of a new phase for Mauritian football, as efforts shift toward restructuring and future planning.

The search for a new head coach is expected to begin immediately, with a focus on finding a leader capable of revitalizing the squad and restoring its competitiveness in African football.
