“FG Assures Public of Super Eagles’ Safety Amid Libyan Airport Stranding”

The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is in communication with the Nigerian Mission in Libya following the diversion of the Super Eagles’ flight en route to Benghazi for their 2025 AFCON qualifier. The flight was unexpectedly redirected to Al Abraq Airport, leaving the team stranded without support from the Libyan Football Federation. Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar has assured the public that efforts are ongoing to resolve the situation, with supplies and internet access provided by early Monday. The Ministry continues to monitor developments as the delay has sparked widespread criticism.
