CAF Responds to Nigeria Super Eagles Stranded in Libya Ahead of AFCON Qualifier

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has responded to the situation involving Nigeria’s Super Eagles, who were stranded for several hours at a Libyan airport ahead of their 2025 AFCON qualifier. CAF’s head of communications, Lux September, confirmed they are in touch with both teams.

Nigeria’s Sports Minister, John Enoh, emphasized the safety of the players, urging CAF to prioritize their security over match participation. Following the team’s decision to return to Nigeria without playing, Enoh called for consequences against the Libyan Football Federation for their actions.
