Kevin Schade Ineligible for Nigeria After Cap-Tying Appearance for Germany

Brentford forward Kevin Schade is no longer eligible to represent Nigeria after making a cap-tying appearance for Germany in a UEFA Nations League match. Schade, who was a late call-up by Germany’s manager Julian Nagelsmann, officially tied his international future to Germany after coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands.

Although he had featured in earlier friendlies for Germany, this competitive match rules out any possibility of switching allegiance to Nigeria, his father’s country of origin.

Schade joins a list of dual-national players who have chosen to represent Germany over Nigeria, including Karim Adeyemi and Jamal Musiala. Despite the loss, Nigeria’s forward line remains strong, with young talents like Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, and Samuel Chukwueze leading the charge.
