Former Manchester City player, Benjamin Mendy, has opened up about his frustrations with the club’s handling of his situation following the accusations of rape that shook his career. In an interview with Telegram, Mendy disclosed that several Manchester City first-team players, including the club captain, were present at the same parties he attended and hosted.

“We all drank alcohol, had casual relationships with women, and broke Covid-19 restrictions,” Mendy admitted, clarifying that while he does not excuse his actions, he feels it is unfair that Manchester City has singled him out. According to Mendy, the key difference between him and the others was that he was falsely accused of rape and subsequently publicly humiliated.
