Alhaji Grusah Blames GFA President Kurt Okraku for Ghana’s AFCON Qualifier Defeat to Sudan

Veteran football administrator Alhaji Grusah has held Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku responsible for Ghana’s 2-0 defeat to Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The match, played at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi, Libya, left Ghana’s hopes of qualifying hanging by a thread. Ghana now sits third in Group F with just two points from four games, making it likely they will miss out on the Morocco tournament.

In an interview with Asempa FM, Grusah criticized Okraku’s absence, stating that the GFA president was in Germany with the U20 national team for a friendly while Ghana was playing a crucial AFCON qualifier. He argued that Okraku’s lack of presence and leadership at such a critical time contributed to the team’s poor performance.

Ghana will return to action in November for their final two qualifiers against Niger and Angola, with their AFCON future at risk.
