Ghana defender Joseph Aidoo has raised alarms about the Black Stars’ uncertain position as they approach the possibility of missing the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in two decades.
With only two points from four matches in Group F, Ghana sits third behind Sudan and Angola, facing a five-point gap from Sudan and trailing Angola by ten. A draw for Sudan in their upcoming match could end Ghana’s qualification hopes.
Reflecting on the team’s struggles, Aidoo stated, “For me, at this moment, it’s really shaky so we have to do our best to put the country at the stage that it was before.” The Black Stars have not advanced to the knockout stage of any tournament since 2019, and their next qualifiers in November are against Niger and Angola.
