“CAF President Patrice Motsepe Vows Action After Nigerian Super Eagles Stranded in Libya Airport Saga”

Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe has addressed the recent ordeal faced by Nigeria’s national football team in Libya. The Super Eagles were redirected to Al Abraq Airport, far from their intended destination, where they were left stranded for over thirteen hours ahead of their 2025 AFCON qualifier against Libya.

Motsepe expressed deep concern about the situation, highlighting that an investigation is ongoing, and CAF is committed to ensuring accountability. He emphasized that similar incidents have occurred in the past, with teams being subjected to questionable airport protocols, and stated that CAF will no longer tolerate such actions. The case has been referred to the CAF Disciplinary Board for further investigation and action.

The stranded Super Eagles had their match postponed due to the logistical challenges, igniting outrage ahead of the crucial AFCON qualifier.
