Former Lazio and Trabzonspor midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has clarified that he has not retired from international football and remains available for Nigeria’s national team. Onazi, currently playing for Serie D club Avezzano, last appeared for the Super Eagles in 2018. Despite injuries and his current club status in the fourth division of Italian football, the 2013 AFCON winner is eager for a recall. Onazi, who earned 52 caps, contributed to Nigeria’s AFCON victory in 2013 and featured in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups.
