CAF Set to Announce Verdict on Super Eagles’ Hostage Incident in Libya: Pinnick Confirms

FIFA Council member and former Nigeria Football Federation president, Amaju Pinnick, has confirmed that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is expected to release its ruling on the Super Eagles’ ordeal in Libya soon. The Nigerian team was detained at Al Abaq Airport for over 20 hours before their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Libya on October 15, 2024. Following the incident, the Super Eagles refused to play and returned home. Pinnick assured that CAF is taking the matter seriously, with a decision expected imminently.
