Chelsea’s Emenalo and Ezenwata Among Five Nigerian Talents Provisionaly Cap-tied to England After Win Over Malta U17

The English FA has provisionally cap-tied five young players of Nigerian descent as the England U17 team secured a 4-0 victory over Malta in their opening match of the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifiers. Chelsea’s Landon Emenalo and Chizaram Ezenwata, Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha, and West Ham duo Chinaza Nwosu and Andre Dike were part of the squad, with Ezenwata starring with two goals. These players are now provisionally cap-tied to England but remain eligible for Nigeria if they request a nationality switch in the future under FIFA regulations.
