Abdul Aziz Issah Earns CAF Young Player of the Year Nomination Following Stellar Season

Ghanaian prodigy Abdul Aziz Issah has been nominated for the 2024 CAF Young Player of the Year award, recognizing his exceptional performances for Dreams FC and the Ghanaian national team. He joins other promising talents like Senegal’s Lamine Camara, Karim Konate of Salzburg, and Brighton’s duo Carlos Baleba and Yakuba Minteh in the race for the prestigious accolade.

The teenager has also been shortlisted for the CAF Inter-club Player of the Year, alongside his former Dreams FC teammate John Antwi. Aziz Issah’s impressive season saw him become the top scorer in the CAF Confederation Cup, with four goals and two assists over 10 matches, helping Dreams FC reach the semi-finals for the first time in their history. His contributions further extended to the 2023 African Games, where he helped Ghana secure a gold medal.

After his impactful season, Abdul Aziz Issah joined FC Barcelona’s B team, marking him as the second Ghanaian to join the club this summer following David Oduro’s recent move from Accra Lions.
